The Cherokee Community School District Board of Education and School Administrators Monday night heard a power point presentation from Curriculum Director Beth Ebert regarding the District's results for the students' Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Iowa Test of Educational Data (ITED).
Augmented by visual graphs, the data traces Cherokee students' ITBS and ITED proficiencies in math, reading comprehension, and science, and includes District and State current status and trajectory percentages.
In other business, the Board established Wednesday, May 4, as the date for the evaluation of Cherokee Superintendent Dr. John Chalstrom in a closed executive session.
The Board also approved a contract for Cherokee Washington High graduate Cory Ege as the Braves' junior varsity baseball coach. Ege joins the staff of first-year head baseball coach Chad Osler and new freshman coach Tyler Jungers.
