Summer lunch program a go

Students in Cherokee will once again be able to receive a hot school lunch during the summer. Free meals will be served daily from June 8 until July 22 (with the exception of July 1, 4 and 5) at Roosevelt Elementary School.

Students age 18 and younger qualify for this free program. Parents are allowed to eat with their children for $3.50 per meal. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Roosevelt building located at 929 North Roosevelt.

Costs for the summer lunch program are reimbursed by the state. If you have any questions about the Summer Lunch Program, contact Quinn Woods, Food Service Director at 712-225-6765.

Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
