Warriors fare well at NWC Co-Ed

LAURENS - The Northwest Conference Co-Ed Track and Field meet was held here last week, and the athletes from Alta-Aurelia did well in both boys and girls competitions.

First-place finishers for the Warriors included Haley Payne in the girls' long jump with a leap of 14-10 1/2, and the girls' 100 meter hurdles in a time of 18.14; Audrey Winterhof in the girls' 100 meters in 13.56, and the 200 meters in 27.56; the boys' shuttle hurdle relay team of Nathan Flaherty, Austin Delp, Jared Schmitz and Neil Marshall, who ran their event in 1:03.93; the girls' shuttle hurdle team of Audrey Winterhof, Mikayla Tuttle, Haley Payne and Morgan Droegmiller in a time of 1:16.20; the boys' 4x200 relay team of Jordan Schmitz, Ryan Friedrich, Shawn Rovell and Jalen Henningsen in a time of 1:38.52; Tami Bertrand in the girls' 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:16.49; and the girls' 4x100 relay team of Lindsey Hall, Morgan Droegmiller, Haley Payne and Audrey Winterhof in :54.96.

A.J. Lange placed second in the boys' high jump with a jump of 5-8 1/2, and third in the boys' long jump with a leap of 17-7 1/4; Neil Marshall placed second in the boys' 400 meter hurdles with his time of 59.12; Austin Delp finished second in the 800 meters in a time of 2:15.69; Melanie Gehrts took second in the girls' 3000 meters in a time of 12:22.83; Morgann Droegmiller finished second in the girls 100 meter hurdles in a time of 18.27; and the following relays all took second: the girls' sprint medley (Lindsay Hall, Mikayla Tuttle, Gracie Winterhof and Rachel Husman) who ran a time of 2:10.39; the boys' distance medley team of Jared Schmitz, Austin Glawe, Jalen Henningsen and Ryan Friedrich with a time of 4:02.20; and the boys' 4x800 team of Jorge McDonald, Brody Lichtenberg, Jayson VanHaaften and Austin Delp in a time of 9:29.42.
