The City of Cherokee is sponsoring a city-wide appliance and tire pickup and will pick these up on Wednesday, May 18, provided arrangements are made in advance at City Hall.
The City Council encourages residents to take advantage of this to help you clean up your property. For your items to be picked up, you must call Cherokee City Hall at 225-5749 no later than Monday, May 16 and tell them what you have for pickup and whether it will be at the curb or alley.
Only residents who call in by the deadline will have their items picked up. There will be a fee of $10 each for any type of appliance. The fee for tire disposal is: car - $2, truck - $4, tractor - $15.
You must pay all fees at City Hall prior to the clean up day. Also, you must have your items at your pickup location before 8 a.m.
This is a great chance to get your items hauled away and clean up your property, prior to any nuisance citations being issued this spring.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
