LAKE CITY - The Alta-Aurelia girls track team finished third among the eight teams competing at the Jim Yunek Relays here on Tuesday.
The Warriors totaled 105 team points, trailing champion Manson Northwest Webster, which scored 157 points, and second place South Central Calhoun, the host school, which totaled 125 points.
The lone first-place finish for Alta-Aurelia was achieved by Haley Payne, who won the long jump with a leap of 15-0 3/4, 1/4 inch longer than the runner-up.
Second place finishes for the Warriors included Jayna Brechwald in the 1500 meters, with a time of 6:21.06; Alexis Hernandez in the shot put, with a toss of 28-9 1/2; the 4 x 800 Relay, with a time of 11:36.68; the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, with a time of 1:14.16; and the Distance Medley Relay, with a time of 5:20.82.
The Alta-Aurelia girls also posted third place finishes in the 4 x 100, 4 x 400 and Sprint Relays.
