SPENCER - The Spencer Tigers bit the Cherokee Braves tennis team 7-2 in Lakes Conference action here Tuesday night in a weather make-up meet.

The Braves won #1 singles and #1 doubles for their lone two victories against the deep Spencer club.

Cherokee senior Alex Struck claimed the lone singles match with a 6-3, 6-1 domination of Spencer's Michael Gabhart at #1, and Struck and Matt Enderlin teamed up to beat Eric Maassen and Bryan LoVan 10-2 at #1 doubles.

For Cherokee in other varsity singles matches, Enderlin lost 2-6, 4-6 to Maassen at #2; Brett Walker fell 0-6, 4-6 to Morgan Kramer at #3; Connor Ogren lost 6-7 (5-7 tiebreak), 3-6 to Luke Koldahl at #4; Gus Laursen lost 1-6, 0-6 to Jordan Plueger at #5; and Nathan Fowler fell 0-6, 0-6 to LoVan at #6.

In other varsity doubles, Walker and Ogren lost 8-10 to Koldahl and Collin Edwards at #2; and Alec Schultz and Fowler lost 3-10 to Troy Geyer and Matt Finnern at #3.

Spencer won the JV matches 5-1. In singles for Cherokee, Schultz lost 0-8 at #1, Alexx Maurer lost 3-8 at #2, Carlos Aguilar lost 3-8 at 33, and Nathan Dodd lost 1-8 at #4.

In JV doubles, Laursen and Maurer lost 1-8 at #1, and Aguilar and Dodd won 8-2 at #2.

"Alex Struck avenged the previous night's loss with a convincing 6-3, 6-1 dismanteling if his opponent at #1 singles," noted Cherokee coach Dave Zelle. "Enderlin, Walker, and Ogren played competitive matches in both singles and doubles."
