Visitation for the late Donald Erdmann was held on Sunday May 15, 2011, at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home in New Hope, Minn. Funeral services were held today at 10 a.m. at New Hope Church, 4225 Gettysburg Ave, New Hope, Minn. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Cemetery, Mankato, Minn.

Donald Erdmann was born February 3, 1921 to Fred and Anna (Engelmann) Erdmann in St. Cloud, Minn. He graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1939. During his high school years he felt a calling to the gospel ministry. On December 27, 1947 Donald was united in marriage to Lorene D. Baker at Mankato, Minn. To this union were born three children, Barbara, James and Paul. Lorene died in a tragic auto accident on January 12, 1971.

Pastor Don (as he preferred to be called) was ordained into the gospel ministry with the Evangelical Free Church of America on October 10, 1954. He served churches in Hewitt and Wrightstown, MN; Lake Vadnais EFC, St. Paul, Minn.; Bethlehem EFC, Cooperstown, N.D.; Christian Fellowship Church, Hannaford, N.D.; Riverside EFC, Minneapolis, Minn.; Meriden EFC, Meriden, Minn.; Gaza Community Church, Gaza; First EFC, LaCrosse, Wis.; and Grace EFC, Fridley, Minn. On June 10, 1973 Pastor Don was united in marriage to Elvera B. Larson who survives him. He is also survived by two sons, James of LaCrosse, Wis. and Paul (Colleen) of Chandler, Ariz.; four step-children, Cheryl (Paul) Johnson, of Westminster, Colo., Bruce Larson (Terry) of Bothell, Wis., Audrey (Stephen) Brown of Merrill, Donna (Peter) Krouss of Golden Valley, Minn.; six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Lorraine Erdmann. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, his wife Lorene and his daughter Barbara.
