RV competes in 1A District track

HINTON - Host Hinton won the Class 1A Girls District Track & Field team title here last week with 164.5 points, to runner-up Woodbine's 115.

Boyer Valley was third with 110, followed by Westwood, Ar-We-Va 57, West Monona 43, West Harrison 42, River Valley 41, Whiting 39, Lawton-Bronson 33, and Charter Oak-Ute 26.

Leading the way for River Valley were Kari Ludvigson third in the 800 meters in 2:39; Brittny Shropshire third in the 100 meter hurdles in 16.80; and the shuttle hurdle relay of Lexie Chester, Shropshire, MacKenzie Fitch, and Alysa Georgopoulos timed in 1:18.

Bailey Fitch was fourth in the 3000 meters in a time of 13:11, and the 4x800 relay of Jordain Volkert, Georgopoulos, Kelsie Brown, and Olivia Goettsch was fourth in 12:38.

Woodbine won the boys title with 133 points, followed by Hinton 111, WM 93, WH 86, L-B 80, River Valley 57, BV 52, WW 36, Ar-We-Va 30, Whiting 18, CO-U 3

Tanner Cobb won the shot put for RV with a throw of 45-8, and Zac Gander was second in the high jump with a leap of 6-0 and third in the 110 meter hurdles in 16.60. Dylan Fluke was fourth in the 200 meters in 23.95, and in the 400 meters in 57.0. RV's shuttle hurdle relay was third in 1:07.
