The Ridge View girls came out on the losing end here Wednesday in a Western Valley Conference softball match-up with Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto. Severe lighting caused the game to be suspended in the top of the 7th inning, with MV-AO leading 7-5 and Ridge View having runners on 2nd and 3rd. Taking the loss on the mound for Ridge View was Dana Hustedt, who pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on three hits, with six walks and three strikeouts. Comingon in relief was Gretchen Kistenmacher, who threw 2 1/3 innings and allowed one run on no hits and walked four. Leading the way at the plate for Ridge View were Kaitlin Wulf, who went 2-4 with one RBI, and Dana Hustedt and Rachel Boyle, each of whom drove in a run. The Ridge View coaches were happy with the way the girls kept battling all night, but were also disappointed in the number of walks isuued and "how we are finding ways to beat ourselves one way or another."
The Raptors played in the Sheldon tournament on Friday & Saturday.
