ALTA - The Alta-Aurelia boys picked up a big Northwest Conference win here on Monday over Manson Northwest Webster, 6-1.
A-A coach Dan Wendel said, "Ryan Friedrich pitched a great game for us again tonight. Manson has a very nice team and is very well- coached, so this was another big win for our guys. We played a complete game offensively and defensively. We got some timely hitting in the 6th to open the game up as Austin Delp came through with a big double to get us going in that inning. (Christian) Weiland and Friedrich both had very good nights at the plate, and we seemed to add runs when we had a chance. We are playing very good baseball right now, and we have to keep building on this and keep improving."
Weiland was 3-4 at the plate and drove in two runs, while fellow senior Friedrich had two hits, including one double, and Delp and Jaden Holton each drove in one run for the Warriors.
On the mound, Friedrich went the distance and gave up one earned run on five hits while walking three and striking out eight.
The Warriors have now won nine straight games and are 12-3 on the season and 3-0 in the Northwest Conference.
