Sarah Ruehle paced Cherokee's offense with a 3-4 game, a run scored, and a stolen base. jackie Wilson was 2-3 with an RBI, and Taylor Woods 1-3 with a double and RBI.

E-Hawl pitcher Ashton Connelly allowed two earned runs on eight hits and one walk, while striking out six in seven innings.

Cherokee was hurt by stranding seven base runners and commiting four costly errors.

Morgan Vlasman hit a home run and tallied two RBI to lead the 13-2 E-Hawks, ranked sixth in Class 2A.

"We played well against a ranked team," noted Cherokee coach Cara Lubeck. "We stranded too many runners at key times to keep us from getting the lead."
