The Ridge View boys overcame a 2-0 deficit to upend the host South O'Brien Wolverines in baseball action in Paullina on Saturday, scoring two runs in the 5th inning and the go-ahead run in the 6th.
Great pitching by Josh Mohr and Kyle Wessling then held the Wolverines scoreless in the 7th , with Mohr getting the win and Wessling the save for the Raptors.
Losing pitcher Chas Biery held the Raptors hitless through the first four innings, and also had a big day at the plate for South O'Brien, rapping out three hits.
Monday night, the Ridge View boys drove home seven runs in the 5th and 6th innings to down Kingsley-Pierson, 7-5, in Western Valley Conference baseball action.
Raptors coach Shannon Tesch said, "We got ourselves into a 2-5 hole after five innings, then scored five runs in the sixth inning to take a 7-5 lead and didn't look back. It was another good comeback for our team. We showed a lot of fight."
Seth Johnson led the Raptors at the plate, with two doubles and four RBI, while Travis Hoeppner also stroked a two-bagger and drove in a run.
Kris Alesch got the win for Ridge View, giving up one earned run on two hits in seven innings of work on the mound. Alesch struck out nine .
The Raptors are now 8-4 on the season and 6-2 in the Western Valley Conference, and host a tournament involving Cherokee, Alta-Aurelia and Ar-We-Va in Holstein on Saturday.
