HOLSTEIN - The Ridge View Raptors topped the River Valley Wolverines, 5-2, in Western Valley Conference baseball action here on Friday.
The Wolverines got off to a 2-0 lead after two innings, but the Raptors battled back, tied the game in the 4th, then added more runs in the 5th and 6th frames to post a big conference win.
Dru Kenny was 2-3 at the plate for Ridge View, and his big 4th inning single drove in two runs to tie up the game for the Raptors, now 6-3 (5-2 in the conference). Josh Mohr was 2-3 wth an RBI and winning pitcher Kris Alesch was 2-4 with another RBI.
Alesch gave up no earned runs on one hit in seven innings of work on the mound while striking out 11 batters.
Adam Schirmer had River Valley's lone hit and Brennan Riedemann and Parker Goettsch scored the Wolverine runs.
Brody Riedemann took the loss on the mound. Brody went five innings and gave up four eraned runs on six hits. He also walked four and hit two batters and struck out five. Brennan Riedemann finished up, allowing one run on two hits in one inning of work.
