M-C Library to present programs

The Meriden-Cleghorn Library will be presenting a program Monday called "Wonderful Windowsill Herb Gardens."

The program is sponsored by Cherokee County ISU Extension and will be presented by Lisa Meusburger, Program Coordinator who serves both Cherokee and Buena Vista Counties.

The program will be held on Monday, June 20 at the Meriden-Cleghorn Library in Cleghorn from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. During this program you can learn how to grow a herb garden, what herbs are and what they are used for. Each child who attends will take home a small windowsill herb garden with a growth chart and they will also create and grow their own character person made out grass seed.

Also on Tuesday, June 21, the library will present a second program by Cherokee County ISU Extension, also presented by Meusburger, called "How to Grow Herbaceous Ornaments.

This program will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. During this program participants will learn how to keep constant color in the their flower gardens by growing a variety of bedding plants, bulbs and rhizomes, which are what Herbaceous Ornamentals plants are.
