Friday, June 17, 2011

Cherokee Regional Medical Center will be holding a come and go Young Family Health Fair on Saturday, June 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is being offered at no cost and all young families are encouraged to attend. Various activities will be available including... children's games in the Wellness Center (kids ages 5-12), CRMC's version of "Monster Trucks" (ambulance, fire truck, police car and sheriff's car), a tour of the OB department, free car seat safety checks and more. A free picnic lunch will also be provided.

"We encourage young families to come and learn more about the high quality health care services available to them at Cherokee Regional Medical Center," said Kent Lundquist, Public Relations and Marketing Manager for CRMC. "This is a great opportunity for them to see the OB Department, meet some of our providers and to learn more about keeping their children healthy and safe."

The event is being offered along with help from the Cherokee Police Department, Cherokee Fire Department and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department. "It is nice to live and work in a community in which various agencies can pull together to offer events for the general good of the public," said Lundquist. "This should be a fun yet informative outing for the families that choose to participate."

There will also be drawings for numerous door prizes and again, the event is being offered at no cost to the public. If you have any questions regarding the health fair or Cherokee Regional Medical Center in general, please feel free to contact Kent Lundquist at 712.225.3369 Ext. 259.
