HOLSTEIN - The Ridge View boys only played five innings against Western Valley Conference foe Lawton-Bronson in baseball action here last week, but it was a long night for the Raptors, as they wound up on the short end of a 15-0 decision.
Ridge View was out-hit by the Eagles, 19-1, and Ridge View coach Shannon Tesch's only comment on the game was, " Lawton-Bronson hit the ball very well."
The Eagles had four players - Austin Lefler, Matt Smith, and Luke and Matt Skinner - each of whom slapped out three hits during the 5-inning game, while Seth Johnson collected the lone base knock against Eagle hurler Matt Skinner, who walked four and struck out seven.
Johnson also took the loss of the mound, surrendering 10 runs on 14 hits in four innings of work.
The Raptors are now 8-6 on the season and 6-3 in the Western Valley Conference, while the Eagles improved their overall mark to a sparkling 14-1.
Ridge View hosts Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto in Holstein tonight, and Alta-Aurelia in Early Tuesday night, before traveling to Woodbury Central in Moville Wednesday night.
