IRSPA District meeting

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

The Cherokee Chapter of the IRSPA (Iowa Retired School Personnel Association) recently hosted the District meeting at the Aurelia Community Center. The IRSPA is a group made up of people who have worked in a school system.

Opal Wharton led the singing while playing the accordion, four doorprize winners received handmade prizes from Duane Buttenob, and various sessions were held throughout the day, led by some of the IRSPA legislators and state officers.

The Cherokee Area Chapter holds six meetings during the year. The group also teaches area elementary classes at the Lily of the Valley Country School in Cherokee.

District One includes chapters from Cherokee County, the Sioux City area, Estherville area, Crawford County, and the Iowa Great Lakes Area.
