SLOAN - The Ridge View softball team improved its overall record to 14-5 with an exciting 5-3 victory here Thursday over a very good Westwood team.
Picking up the Western Valley Conference victory on the mound for Ridge View was Gretchen Kistenmacher, who threw all seven innings and surrendered two earned runs on seven hits, all singles, while walikng two batters and striking out two.
Roxanne Grundmeier led the Raptors on offense, going 2-4 with an RBI, while Dana Hustedt went 1-2 with an RBI, Emily Schiernbeck slugged an
RBI double, Kistenmacher doubled in a run, and Kyra Hoffman went 1-3 and scored two runs.
Ridge View coach Scott Phelps said he and the other Raptors coaches are happy with the progress their players have been making on an daily basis. "Our pitching continues to be solid and our defense is improving game- to- game, while are bats continue to put the ball in play," said Phelps.
The win improves Ridge View to 7-3 in Western Valley Conference play.
