LYTTON -The Ridge View softball girls traveled here Saturday to compete in the South Central Calhoun Tournament and came away with an 1-0 record, as the Raptors defeated the host team 8-0 and then were rained out of the rest of the tournament.
Picking up the win on the mound for Ridge View was Gretchen Kistenmacher who continues to pitch well and show game-to-game improvement, throwing a two hit, seven inning shutout, walking one and striking out seven.
Leading the way at the plate for the Raptors were Roxanne Grundmeier, who went 2-4, including a home run, with three RBI; Nicole Snyder, who went 2-2 while scoring 3 runs; Kyra Hoffman who went 2-2 with three RBI; and Katie Boyle who went 2-3, including a double, with one RBI. Kaitlin Wulf also had a triple and Dana Hustedt drove in a run.
The Raptors coaches are happy with how the lineup, from top to bottom, has started to become more consistent at the plate. Ridge View is now 15-5 overall and 7-3 in the conference.
