MAPLETON - Defensive miscues caused the River Valley Wolverines to fall behind early, 3-0, to host Maple Valley/Anthon-Oto in Western Valley Conference baseball action here on June 15th.

The Wolverines came back to take the lead, scoring four runs in the top of the 5th, but the Rams came back, too, scoring a victory by a final 6-5 score.

Skylar Shever was 2 for 2 with a double and a run scoring single to lead RV at the plate, and also did a good job behind the plate, working with pitcher Brody Riedemann, who pitched six innings and gave up two earned runs on five hits, walking two and striking out 12.

RV coach Eric Goettsch felt that this was the best game the junior Riedemann has pitched in his career to date, and added that he and fellow junior Shever seem to work really well together.

Brody Riedemann was also 1 for 4 at the plate with a run scoring double, and Parker Goettsch was 1 for 3 with a two-run double.
