The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn softball team continued to win during a recent busy stretch of the season, forging a 4-1 record to run the Eagles' season mark to a shiny 12-3.
In the win over HMS, Stephanie Specht got the pitching victory, allowing two earned runs on 10 hits in seven innings of work.
Jalyn Doeden was 2-3 with a double and RBI, andReagan McDaniel was 1-3 with an RBI to pace the MMC hitting attack. Kayla Foresman and jackie Holmes also had hits for the winners.
Brandi Or was 2-4 with two RBI and a run scored, and Doeden was 2-3 with two RBI and a double to lead the Eagle offense. Erica Dreckman was 1-3 with two runs scored, Kayla Theisen 1-3 with a run scored, Foresman 1-3 with an RBI, and Specht 1-3 with two runs scored.
Specht got the mound win in the shutout of host L-B, giving up just one hit and striking out six in the abbreviated five-inning game.
Dreckman was 2-3 with two runs scored and four stolen bases, Theisen 1-2 with two runs scored and an RBI, Foresman 1-4 with three RBI, Orr 2-3 with a run scored, Specht 1-3 with two RBI, and Jackie Holmes and McDaniel each 1-3 with an RBI.
Dreckman had a hit and two RBI to lead the MMC offense, and Specht rapped a double and scored a run. Foresman also had a hit in the game.
Foresman also got the win in the slugfest with Remsen St. Mary's, allowing five earned runs on 12 hits and two walks, with two Ks in seven innings.
Doeden had three hits, two RBI and scored twice to lead the MMC batters, while Dreckman, Foresman, Orr, and Taylor Holmes each tallied two hits. Orr and Theisen each totaled two RBI, and Dreckman scored three times for the winners.
MMC plays in the Spencer Tournament today and Saturday.
