Cherokee County Fair 4-H Schedule

The following is a schedule of events for the Cherokee County 4-H at this year's Cherokee County Fair. A reminder from the 4-H events organizers is that all times are subject to change and exhibitors will be notified of all time changes.

Tuesday, July 5 is Entry Day.

Entry and judging of 4-H exhibits will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. At 3 p.m. at the North 4-H Building will be the State Fair Selection, the building will be closed at that time to the public.

Consumer judging contest will be at the South 4-H Building from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the Clover Kid entry will be at the North 4-H Building from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 6.

Entering of the 4-H hogs will be from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., weigh all 4-H beef (market, breeding, and advanced cattle feeding) will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Dairy animals, meat goats, sheep, rabbits, poultry need to be in place by 8 a.m.

Thursday, July 7.

The 4-H swine show will be at the main show ring at 8:30 a.m. with the showmanship, Sr. and Jr. to follow.

Registration for District 4-H and FFA livestock judging contest will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the North 4-H Building.

At 12:30 p.m. the District 4-H and FFA livestock judging contest will be held at the show ring. The 4-H poultry show will be at 1:30 at the Show Ring with the showmanship, Sr. and Jr. to follow. The 4-H horse show and games will be at the Horse Arena at 3:30 p.m. and the Cavaliers Drill Team performance will also be at the Horse Arena at 6 p.m. The Pride of Iowa Contest will be open to the public at 6:30 p.m. at the North 4-H Building.

Friday, July 7.

The 4-H sheep show with advanced sheep feeding and meat goat show will be at the Show Ring at 8:30 a.m. The 4-H horse show will be at the Horse Arena at 10 a.m. with showmanship, Sr. and Jr. to follow. A t 10:30 a.m. the 4-H dairy show will be held at the Show Ring with showmanship, Sr. and Jr. to follow.

From 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. the registration of Exotic Animals will be held at the Show Ring with the Exotic Animals show starting at 3:30 p.m. The Consumer judging contest will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the South 4-H Building.

Saturday, July 9

The 4-H beef show will be held at the Show Ring at 9 a.m. with showmanship, Sr. and Jr. to follow along with advance cattle feeding to follow immediately.

The 4-H clothing revue will be at 1 p.m. at the North 4-H Building.

Clover Kids stuffed animal show will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the North 4-H Building. At 2 p.m. the 4-H Communication events will be held at the North 4-H Building.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m. the Parade of 4-H Champions will be at the Show Ring, Senior 4-H Awards Presentation will be held and the Cherokee County 4-H Hall of Fame announcement will follow the Cherokee County's Fair's Minute to Win It also at the Show Ring.

Sunday, July 10

Church services will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Activity Building. From 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the 4-H pet registration will be held with the 4-H Pet Show/Dog obedience at the North 4-H Building at 11:30 a.m. The 4-H rabbit show will be at 12:30 p.m. at the Show Ring and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. be the release of all 4-H exhibits and animals.
