STORM LAKE - The 4th-ranked Alta-Aurelia Warrior girls improved their Northwest Conference record to 6-0 with a 13-1, 4-inning win over Storm Lake St. Mary's here on Monday.

Kaitlyn McCormick slugged a pair of doubles and Hannah Glienke and Audrey Winterhof also had two hits apiece to lead the Warriors' offense, and McCormick also got the win on the mound, going all four innings and allowing one earned run on three hits, while walking one and striking out five.

Alta-Aurelia coach Dave Turnquist said his team "had a very good hitting night. We were very disciplined at the plate and hit the pitch we wanted. Every hit was a line drive."

Coach Turnquist also felt that the Warrior defense against a good- hitting St. Mary's ball club was excellent.

Alta-Aurelia's season record is 21-5 heading into the final week of the regular season.
