North Star Community Credit Union of Cherokee, and Creamery Credit Union in Sanborn, will merge their respective operations on Friday, July 1, creating combined total assets of $65 million.
Currently, Creamery Credit Union, approximately $1.5 Million in asset size, is a single segment credit union providing service to employees of the local AMPI company and their families. This merger will not only expand North Star's activity into the northern part of its area, but also provide for the extension of additional financial products and services to Creamery Credit Union's members and the surrounding communities.

With its 22 employees, North Star Community Credit Union provides a wide variety of financial products and services, serving 11 Northwest Iowa counties: Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Crawford, Ida, Monona, O'Brien, Plymouth, Sac, Sioux, and Woodbury. With this merger, Osceola will be added to the Field of Membership.
This merger will provide current Creamery Credit Union members with access to additional financial services, including Checking and Money Market Accounts, ATM/Debit cards, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), a wide range of Certificates of Deposit, Online Account Access, Bill Pay, eStatements, Touch Tone Teller, and so forth.
