The O'Brien County Conservation Board is proud to be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Mill Creek Park.
Mill Creek Park, near Paullina, began serving the area as a state park in 1936 and has continued to be a destination attraction for Northwest Iowa to this day.
Mill Creek Park provides a full service campground, camping cabins, an enclosed lodge, and picnic areas. The lake is stocked with fish and a beautiful swimming beach is available. Hiking trails surround the lake and pass through a wooded area. A paved bike trail connects the park to the city of Paullina.
The Conservation Board encourages the public to come out and visit this diverse park. A Picnic Celebration and Movie on the Beach is planned for Saturday, July 9.
Stop by for hot dogs and hamburgers from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Spend time exploring the park. Then, stay to enjoy a movie on the beach. Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blanket and find a spot on the grass to enjoy a family movie. The movie begins at dusk.
A freewill donation will raise funds for playground equipment in the park. Join the O'Brien County Conservation Board in celebrating this milestone for the park. For more information, contact the conservation board at 712-295-7200.
