BOYDEN - The Ridge View Raptors softball team wrapped up its regular season Wednesday with a 6-4 non-conference road loss to a very tough Boyden Hull/ Rock Valley team. It was a good game, with two quality teams playing hard. Ridge View jumped out to a 3-0 lead and they were

still up, 3-1, going into the 6th inning, but game up four runs that inning. Ridge View finishes the season with a 20-10 record headed into regional play at Galva on Friday.

Taking the loss for Ridge View in the circle was Gretchen Kistenmacher, who gave up five earned runs on 10 hits, while walking one and striking out four. Leading the way at the plate for the Raptors were Roxanne Grundmeier, who went 3-4; Ashlynn Blenner, who went 2-4; Nicole Snyder, who went 2-4 and had one stolen base; Kyra Hoffman, who went 1-3 with two RBI; Dana Hustedt, who was 1-4 with an RBI; and Kaitlin Wulf, who clubbed a double.

Ridge View coach Scott Phelps thought that his team played a good game and gave good effort while being competitive, but came out on the short end.

"We are still looking to finish out games and play a full seven innings as we head into regionals," said the veteran skipper. The Raptors drew a first-round bye in the tournament, and they will meet the winner of Thursday's game between Unity Christian and Sioux Center at 7 p.m. tonight at the Galva field.
