HOLSTEIN -Faith Lutheran Church dedicated its building and ministry to the service of God on Sunday, June 26, at a special 2 p.m. service at 113 N. Main St. in Holstein.

Visiting pastors and worshippers from Holstein and surrounding communities joined the Faith congregation as they dedicated their work to the glory of God and extended their appreciation to all who have helped along the journey leading them to their new church home.

The group gathered on the sidewalk outside the front door as Pastor Jason Cooper declared, "From this day forward, let this be a place for the gathering of the people of God and for proclaiming God's word. Let the doors be opened."

"Peace be to this house, and to all who enter here," Pastor Cooper continued, as Faith members and friends entered the church and assembled in the sanctuary. Youth and adult members of the congregation participated in the dedication as the baptismal font, altar, children's work and classroom were blessed. The Faith Praise Team was joined by the CrossRidge Praise Team in a jubilant offering of musical gifts.

Following the service the ladies of the church served cake and punch during the fellowship hour.

Members of Faith Lutheran Church started this congregation Sept. 26, 2010, exactly nine months prior to Dedication Sunday. They purchased the old brick building on the west side of Highway 59 at auction in January 2011, and moved in on April 23.

The congregation invites everyone in the area to join them each week as they come into this building to worship God and go out to do His work. Faith holds regular weekly worship on Sundays at 10 a.m. and Sunday School at 9 a.m.

Vacation Bible School will be held July 26-28, 6-8 p.m., at Faith. All kids and all families are welcome and wanted.
