The annual "Rock the Block" fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis will take place on Saturday, August 6 at the Cherokee County Fairgrounds.
The gates will open at 5 p.m. that day for a Family BBQ, courtesy of the Cherokee County Cattlemen. A classic car Shine and Show will also be taking place, and there will be a "Kid's Zone" featuring inflatables, games, activities and prizes. There is no gate charge for the family evening.
At 9 p.m., the popular band Judd Hoos will take the stage for an energy- filled evening of live music. The Budweiser beer garden will be open and concessions will be available throughout the night. The cover charge for the band is $10.
As always, because of the generous sponsors, organizers are able to give 100% of our proceeds to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. These dollars truly are making a difference in the lives of 30,000 children and young adults across the country.
$20 is the cost if you pre-register, and the cost includes a T-shirt. Registration on the day of the event is $25, and a limited number of T-shirts will be available at that time.
While this is not an officially timed event, prizes will be awared in various categories. Come run for fitness, community spirit, and a great cause. Water, snacks and fruit will be provided for runners following the run.
All proceeds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
