SIOUX CITY - Tip Top Tux of Sioux City has awarded six area high school students with a college scholarship. The six recipients were chosen from over 200 applicants based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need and volunteer service in their community.
The recipient of the $5000 scholarship is: * Eric Boisen, Washington High School, Cherokee.
The recipients of the $500 scholarships are: * Kenny Bakker, Washington High School, Sioux Falls, S.D. * Derek Pinzon, Lincoln Northstar, Lincoln, Neb. * Charlie Vos, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton High School, Ruthton, Minn. * Jesse McGinness, Park Hill South High School, Kansas City, Mo. * Austin Dillard, West Fargo High School, West Fargo, N.D.
Tip Top Tux developed the scholarship program in 2010 as a way to give back to the community and promote education to local high school seniors. Every graduating senior had the opportunity to apply for one $5000 college scholarship and one of five $500 college scholarships.
Tip Top Tux stands by its commitment to give back to the community.
