Taking the loss on the mound for Ridge View was Gretchen Kistenmacher, who gave up seven hits and four runs (one earned), while walking one and striking out one.
Senior Roxanne Grundmeier went 3-4 at the plate for the Raptors, including a home run, and she also scored two runs and stole two bases. Fellow senior Emily Schiernbeck went 2-2 with a double and one RBI and also stole a base.
Ridge View ended the year at 21-11, and played some of their best softball at the end of the year.
Ridge View coach Scott Phelps said the coaches were happy with the way the kids kept battling back against a tough opponent Monday, adding "We
had chances to win the game at the end, but just couldn't get the big hit when we needed it."
Ridge View will lose the two stellar seniors from the squad, but they will return seven starters, so they should have a good nucleus to build on for next year and perhaps improve on this year's fine record.
