Raptor boys bow out against LB

The Ridge View Raptors took on conference foe Lawton-Bronson, the 10th-ranked team in state in Class 2A, in District Tournament action here on Saturday, and the Raptors, who held a 1-0 lead going into the bottom of the third, were unable to beat the Eagles, losing by a score of 7-1.

Ridge View coach Shannon Tesch stated that "Lawton-Bronson has great hitters, 1 through 9. Every player in the lineup is a tough out."

Matt Smith had three hits and three RBI for Lawton-Bronson, as Ridge View's Kris Alesch took the loss on the mound, going five innings and allowing five runs - two of them earned - on nine hits, while walking four and striking out six. Kyle Wessling pitched the final inning, allowing two runs - one earned - on

no hits, while walking one.

The Raptors had only three hits, with Heath Clark getting two and Seth Johnson the other.

"We had a good season," said Coach Tesch. " I wish it wasn't over, but we lost to a good opponent in Lawton-Bronson."

Ridge View ends its season with an 18-10 record, finishing with a 12-4 mark in the Western Valley Conference.
