The Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn girls placed four players on the First Team of the 2011 All-War Eagle Conference, including unanimous picks Kayla Foresman and Erica Dreckman.
Foresman, a junior pitcher, joined Akron-Westfield junior Brandi Davis (unanimous), and Hinton senior Shawnee Miller as First Team pitchers.
Also for MMC, junior Jalyn Doeden joined A-W senior Sarah Parkinson (unanimous) as First Team catchers; and senior Stephanie Specht joined Remsen-Union senior Allison Schreiner, A-W sophomore Jaclyn Smith, and Hinton senior Jessie Poss as First Team outfielders.
Second Team selections were R-U sophomore Kim Schroeder, Gehlen junior Amber Timmins, and RSM sophomore Miranda Staab as pitchers; RSM sophomore Paige Harpenau, and Gehlen junior Lisa Gunter catchers; Hinton senior Kelsey Anfinson, R-U sophomore Brittany Weikel, A-W junior Melissa Kroksh, RSM sophomore Makenzie Ricke, and West Sioux senior Adara Lidgett infielders; Spalding senior Paige Jungers, Hinton sophomore Shannon Miller, South O'Brien junior Casie Rehder, and West Sioux sophomore Jaylen Blankenship outfielders; and RSM sophomore and Hinton senior Rileigh Burke utility.
