Registration for Cherokee Schools will be district-wide and will be conducted at the Cherokee Middle School.
This registration will also include ECLC students that have been accepted for the 2011-2012 school year.
Registration will be held on the following dates:
Tuesday, August 9 will be for students with the last names beginning with the letters A through M, and will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Students with the letters N through Z will be on Wednesday, Aug. 10 from noon to 8 p.m.
On Thursday, Aug. 11, registration will be held from noon to 6 p.m., for those unable to attend on the previous days.
Registration will consist of filling out registration paperwork, making any changes in medical or contact information, purchasing activity tickets ($35 for students and $48 for adults), paying book rent ($30 per student), instrument rental ($25) and depositing money in the students' lunch account ($1.15 for breakfast and $1.80 for lunch).
High School students will receive their schedules, locker and homeroom assignments.
High school students will have their pictures taken by Pierson's Photography for the school yearbook. Any students taking a WITCC class will also be required to pay a $20 book rent for each WITCC class that they will be taking.
We ask that all students new to the district call their respective building (Washington High School (grades 9-12) 225-6755, Cherokee Middle School (grades 5-8) 225-6750 or Roosevelt Elementary School (grades K-4) 225-6760) to set a time to develop a schedule, fill out a records request, etc. prior to registration.
In addition, the Iowa Department of Public Health requires that all kindergarteners and freshmen have proof of a dental exam within the previous year.
On Monday, Aug. 15, Washington High School will have their freshman and new student orientation at 7 p.m. in the WHS auditorium.
On Tuesday, Aug. 16 "Meet the Teacher Night" will be held. Roosevelt Elementary will host theirs at 5 p.m. and Cherokee Middle School will begin theirs at 7 p.m.
