Hoeppner accepted as National American Miss state finalist

Brookelyn Hoeppner, 14, of Cherokee, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Iowa state pageant to be held this weekend at the Ramada Convention Center in Waterloo.

The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4 -- 18, and have five different age divisions. Hoeppner will be competing against other young ladies from across the state in the Junior Teen age division.

The winner of the pageant will receive $1,000 cash; the official crown and banner; a trophy; roses; and her air transportation and sponsor fees paid to compete in the national pageant in California, where she will also receive a complimentary tour of Hollywood and two free tickets to Disneyland.

Brookelyn is the daughter of Caty and Tracy Hoeppner of Cherokee.
