Peterson to perform at Iowa State Fair

Cherokee's Libby Peterson will be performing in the Bill Riley Talent Show Competition at the Iowa State Fair this Sunday, August 14.

Libby, 14, is the daughter of John and Karen Peterson of Cherokee, and she will be singing and accompanying herself on the guitar on an original song, entitled "Thanks To You."

Peterson has studied guitar with accomplished musician and instructor Michael Hoover at The Gathering Place in Cherokee for 2 1/2 years.

She automatically qualfied for the 2011 State Fair competition with her semi-finalist finish in last year's State Fair competition. She was runner-up at this year's Bill Riley Talent Show at the Cherokee County Fair.
