The Cherokee County Auditor's Office reminds voters that the polls will be open for Cherokee School District voters from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13 for the School Election.
For voters in the Aurelia and Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn School Districts, polls will be open from noon until 8 p.m. All residents in the State of Iowa must vote in the precinct in which they reside on Election Day.
Polling locations for Cherokee County residents are:

Absentee Ballots for the upcoming School Election are available in the Cherokee County Auditor's office located in the Cherokee County Courthouse at 520 W. Main St., Cherokee, Iowa.
If you will be unable to vote on the scheduled Election Day, Tuesday, Sept. 13, you may stop in or call the Auditor's office at 225-6704 to receive the absentee request form.

The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot by mail is 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to the election, which would be Sept. 9.
If you are in the Cherokee School District, you may vote absentee at the County Auditor's office through Monday, Sept. 12, 2011. For those in the Aurelia and MMC School District, you may vote in the County Auditor's office until 11 am the day of the Election. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Monday, Sept. 12, or you may hand deliver your voted ballot to the Auditor's office by 9 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13.

For River Valley Community School District in Woodbury County, the polls will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Election Day, Sept. 13. Voters registering to vote on Election Day must show a valid Iowa ID that contains their photo and current address. If the voter doesn't have an Iowa ID, they may call the Woodbury County Auditor's Office at 279-6465 for a list of other acceptable ID forms.
