LE MARS - The 36th annual National Old Time Country Bluegrass and Folk Music Festival will be held from 9 a.m. until midnight, Aug. 29 through Sept. 4, at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds.

There will be 10 separate stages at the event, with more than 650 performers. Among the performers this year will be Grand Ole Opry veterans Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius, who will be performing on Tuesday Aug. 30, and Jeannie Seely, who will perform on Wednesday.

Johnny Cash's daughter Kathy will be performing on Saturday Sept. 3; Ralph and Nathan Stanley, whose "Man of Constant Sorrow" was featured in the film "Oh Brother Where Art Thou,?" will perform on Monday Aug. 29.

The LeMars Festival is dedicated to old-time music and electric instruments are pretty much forbidden.

Single day admission is $15 for adults and those under 18 are admitted free. Plenty of good food will be available, and there will also be various arts and crafts displays on the grounds.
