A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford.
A memorial visitation was held Wednesday, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a Vigil for the Deceased at 6 p.m. at the Schuchert Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Arnolds Park Public Library.
The Schuchert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born on March 11, 1923, in Cherokee, to Thomas and Mary (Dunn) Timmins.
Claude graduated from Cherokee High School in 1940. He served his country in the United States Navy, during WWII. Claude was united in marriage to Shirley J. Campbell on Nov. 4, 1944 in Waukegan, Ill.
Claude owned and operated the Timmins Agency in Estherville, for 21 years, selling real estate and insurance. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Claude enjoyed spending his spare time reading and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine brothers and sisters.
Claude is survived by his wife, Shirley Timmins of Okoboji; two daughters, Barbara Timmins-Hetzel and Betty Timmins-Fettig, and her husband, Rick; three sons, Tom Timmins, and his partner, Judy Rubenstein, Rick Timmins, and his wife, Marcia, and Joe Timmins, and his wife, Diane; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
