The Hanover Historical Society announces that its 15th annual Hanover Festival will be held Sunday, Aug. 28, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Hanover Village which is located at the Junction of M-27 and C-65 southwest of Alta.

Headlining the day's entertainment will be two of the Midwest's top polka bands: Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen, and Gary Brueggen and the Ridgeland Dutchmen. Enjoy dancing to their music, or bring a lawn chair and listen.

A visit to the village offers an opportunity to step back in time to the 1900's as one visits the many restored buildings including the general store, blacksmith shop, home, and farm buildings. Working demonstrations of various farm activities will interest the public.

Special activities planned for children include a petting zoo, train rides, and games at 2:30 p.m. They will also be interested in the many displays showing how things were done yesteryear.

Food will be served from noon to 7 p.m. The menu includes pork loin sandwiches, brats, homemade pies, and ice cream.

Admission is $7.50, with children 14 and under admitted free. Free parking is offered across the road from the general store.
