Western Iowa Tech Community College is celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Cherokee Campus with a reception and food and refreshments from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at 200 Victory Dr.
At the same time, local WITCC officials we will be officially introducing the new President of the College, Dr. Terry Murrell.
Bountiful refreshments and snacks will be served and the event is open to the community. This is a great opportunity for all members of the community to see the beautiful WITCC campus, visit with friends, and share input on what services and programs may be needed for the next 15 years.
"We are so very proud of the Cherokee WITCC Campus and pleased to be celebrating our 15th Anniversary," said Darla Struck, Director of the Cherokee WITCC Campus and Northern Service Area.
"To be able to introduce our new Preisdent Dr. Terry Murrell to the community during this significant milestone only enhances this special celebration."
In his final Advisory Board meeting in Cherokee in May, retired WITCC President Dr. Robert Dunker spoke of his fondness and admiration for Cherokee "WITCC Pioneers" Joe Lundsgaard and Joan Ballantyne, who teamed with Dunker to establish the WITCC facility in Cherokee 15 years ago.
