Did you see all those lego statues and sculptures looming high in the sky? Did you see the older boys and girls smiling as they find the next book in a series on the shelf? Did you see the parents and their children enjoying a board game or three? These are just some of the sights and sounds I miss at the library. The time will come soon as September rolls in when I'll hear these familiar sounds and grin.
The September Newsletter is hot off the press. So be sure to stop in and see what youth programs will be offered again.
Mark your calendars for the following dates. Tuesday, September 13th the Preschool Story Time will be back and run from 10:30 a.m. -- 11 a.m. This program is for children 3 -- 5 years old and will meet every Tuesday. During this half hour the children will listen to stories, sing songs, participate in finger plays, and have fun! Crafts will be a part of the program if there is time and it goes with the story.
Terrific Toddlers will meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month. This story time is open to parents and their 1 or 2 year old children. The first story time for toddlers will be Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Moms and dads this will be a chance to spend some special time with your child through stories, learning rhymes to use at home with your child, and games you can play with them when changing their diaper, getting them dressed, or feeding them. So come and discover some new ways to interact with your child.
We will be trying something new and different for our youth programs this year. A special program will be offered each month for youth of all ages. The September library program will be Monday, Sept. 12 from 3:45 -- 4:45 p.m. Your child should ride Bus #3 to the library and meet Peg upstairs in the Story Time room.
We will walk to the fire station where Justin, the fireman will gear up and share some interesting stories about how he became a fireman and what a fireman does besides put out fires.
See you Monday, Sept. 12.
Be sure to pick up a September newsletter, mark your calendars, and join in the fun as we start our youth programs
