River Valley whips winless Whiting, 48-6

WHITING - Skylar Shever scored three touchdowns and rushed six times for 44 yards to pace River Valley to a 48-6 demolition of Whiting here Friday night in 8-player football.

Brennan Riedemann rushed nine times for 47 yards and a TD, and also threw a TD pass to Josh Pansegrau for the winning Wolverines. Brennan's older brother Brody, back from an early season injury, also threw a TD pass to Brennan good for 35 yards.

River Valley was a combined 10-27 passing for 164 yards, with Brennan 9-25 for 129 yards. The Wolverines rushed 17 times for 98 yards.

Blane Cullen led the RV receivers with four catches for 49 yards, while Parker Goettsch and Pansegrau had two catches each for a combined 48 yards.

Chase Turner tallied Whiting's lone TD and rushed 14 times for 55 yards. Warrior quarterback Kevin Grell was 5-12 passing for 43 yards.

Reid Linden caught four of those completions for 42 yards.

Jacob Preuss led the tough River Valley defense with 11 tackles, followed by Goettsch with seven, Brody Riedemann six, and Shever and Brennan Riedemann five apiece. Wyatt Fitch and Drew Payne had fumble recoveries for the Wolverines.

River Valley, now 3-1 this season, hosts Laurens-Marathon Friday night in 8-player District action.
