Cherokee State Bank has established a special fund to help defray medical costs for baby Emmett, son of Tina Woltman and Chad Zorr, and is planning a bake sale on Friday, Sept. 23 starting at 9 a.m. at the bank.

Tina, the daughter of Glen and Bev Woltman of rural Cleghorn, worked as the bank receptionist for seven years.

Emmett was born in Sioux Falls on April 25, 2011, weighing 1 lb. 8oz and has been hospitalized since his birth. He has had several surgeries, most recently at the Children's Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota, to repair a hole in his heart. He is recovering at Sandford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Donations may be dropped off or mailed to Cherokee State Bank at 212 W. Willow ST, Cherokee, IA, 51012. Bank employees invite you to stop in the bank this Friday to buy your bake sale items.
