Cherokee Depot hosts 'Fall Family Fest'

The Cherokee Depot Renovation, Inc. will be holding its 10th annual Fall Family Fest on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the historic Cherokee Railroad Depot on South 4th Street in downtown Cherokee.

The day will kick of at 9 a.m.

Also at 9 a.m. there will be a Farmers Market held until all the produce is gone. Other events will include an Art Display provided by area artists, and music will be provided throughout the day. The Little Sioux Valley Model Railroad will be open and operating at the depot from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Also Judy and CW Miller will be giving a rope-making demonstration from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Darrell Veencamp will show how honey is extracted from a honeycomb.

Lunch will start at 11 a.m. until the food is gone. Menu includes tavern, chips, hot dogs, and a drink. The Fall Family Fest will also include games and activities for kids starting at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. During that time kids can meet Barkley the Dog from 1st Trust and Savings Bank. There also will be a vegetable toss, apple eating contest, little train ride and much, much more.

The Cherokee Depot Renovation, Inc. is also hosting its first annual Photography Contest.
