ALTA - Former Major League Baseball pitcher Brian Holman will be conducting a pitching clinic in Alta on Saturday, October 22.

Holman pitched for the Montreal Expos and Seattle Mariners. While he is best known for nearly pitching a perfect game, what isn't well-known is that he was the centerpiece of the trade that landed the Mariners Randy Johnson. Holman was the opening day starter for the Mariners in 1990.

The clinic begins at 8 a.m. at the Alta High School baseball field for ages 8-12. After a provided lunch, the clinic continues for those aged 13-18 until 5 p.m. Individual instruction, at a separate cost, will also available on Sunday. If weather intervenes, the clinic will be held in the gym. The cost is $100 for the clinic, and $75 an hour for individual instruction.

Space is limited to 25 participants in each session. To register for the clinic and learn further details, visit brianholmanbaseball.com.

Holman and his son David, who pitches in the Mariner organization, look forward to working the clinic.
