LSFC hosts final all-night Catfish Tournament

CORRECTIONVILLE - The Little Sioux Fishing Club of Correctionville will hold its final all-night Catfish Tournament Saturday night.

Registration will be from 4-6 p.m. at Little Sioux Park south of Correctionville. Weigh-in will be by 10 a.m. Sunday morning at Little Sioux Park. All teams must weigh their own fish, and no late weigh-ins will be accepted.

This is a team tournament and a team can consist of up to four members and as small as a one-man team. Entry fee is $6 per team member and pay back is based on number of participants. All teams must register themselves before they start to fish.

To be eligible for on of the cash prizes, a team must weigh in a stringer of five catfish. Minimum length on the fish weighed in is 15 inches. The fish must be caught in the Little Sioux River from Cherokee to Smithland, or its tributaries. All fish must be caught on rod and reel. All other fishing and boating regulations apply.

In addition to the tournament for the heaviest stringers of catfish, there also will be a contest for heaviest carp caught by an individual. The entry fee for the carp tourney that will run concurrently with the catfish tourney is $1 per person. The carp must be weighed in by 10 a.m. Sunday.
