Fareway welcomes new meat manager

The Cherokee Fareway store recently welcomed Paul Hassman as the new manager of its Meat Department.

Hassman is a native of Le Mars, and he has been working for Fareway since he was in high school. He has worked in Fareway Stores at Le Mars, Algona, Atlantic, Ankeny, Ottumwa and Sioux City prior to coming to Cherokee.

He will be moving to Cherokee soon. Hassman and his wife Staci are planning a trip to Florida in the near future and when they come back they will be moving their family, which consist of their five school -age children, to town.

Hassman began his Fareway career, as he stated, "As something to do" but found that he really enjoyed working for Fareway and thought it would be a good opportunity for his future.

"I'm excited to be here in Cherokee and running the meat department. I invite everyone to come in and say 'hi' and to buy some meat," Hassman stated.

With October being Pork Month, Hassman said that Fareway has Chairman's Reserve Boneless Whole Pork Loins for a $1.88 per pound. Average loin is eight to 10 lbs. Plus there is a $2 off Fareway Coupon also for the Chairman's Reserve Boneless Whole Pork Loins that good through Nov. 11 of this year.

There are also several more items at the Fareway's full service meat department, such as the finest USDA choice beef, farm fresh poultry, deli meats, cheese, and several specialty items.
