The Cherokee Zone of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League held its Fall Rally at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown on September 29. The event began with delicious desserts, coffee and tea, served by the host committee.

The program was a presentation about the June 2011 LWML National Convention in Peoria, Illinois, which Zone delegate Jeanette Hinkeldey and five other members attended. Each of them shared their memories and experiences of the convention, whose theme this year was "Being With Jesus - Living on the Edge," and Zone Counselor Rev. Larry Lemke and host pastor Don Erickson each gave a shortened version of the Bible studies which were used at the Convention.

The Christian Growth Committee presented a skit entitled "You What Me to Do WHAT?" and during the business meeting, an election of officers was held. Gayleen Meyer was elected Vice President, Deb Jorgensen secretary and Rev. Don Erickson Zone Counselor.

The ingathering for the evening was a variety of canned goods and grocery items, which will be donated to Mid Sioux Opportunities in Cherokee and S.O.S. in Primghar. The offering collection will go to Mites.

The meeting closed with a prayer and remembrance of members who have passed away since our last Rally.
