Evelyn M. Schuster, 91, of Sonora, Calif., a former Cherokee resident, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 at Avalon Care Center in Sonora, Calif.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. on Monday, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, in Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Dennis Quint will officiate.

Evelyn was born June 4, 1920, in Cherokee, the daughter of August and Frieda (Mattsson) Peterson. She married Carlton A. Schuster on Nov. 26, 1949 in Los Angeles, California. Evelyn enjoyed being a housewife, tending sewing classes and embroidering.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carlton in 1976, three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include her children: Jeff (Renee) Schuster of Sonora, Calif., three grandchildren: Tyler, Molly and Carlton "Gus" Schuster, in-laws: Art Kronlage and Kathleen Klaus and numerous nieces and nephews.
