River Valley spanks Spalding

CORRECTIONVILLE - Sophomore quarterback Brennan Riedemann rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another to lead River Valley past Granville Spalding 54-6 in 8-player District football action here Friday night.

Riedemann rushed 14 times for 88 yards and two TDs, and his teammate Jacob Preuss carried the ball eight times for 85 yards and two TDs, including an exciting 53-yard scamper to paydirt for the winning Wolverines.

Riedemann completed 9-18 passes for 106 yards, one TD, and one interception in the game, with Blane Cullen hauling in a 22-yard pass for a TD as one of his three receptions for a total 45 yards. Josh Pansegrau and Brody Riedemann each snagged two passes for River Valley.

Skylar Shever led the Wolverine defense with eight tackles, followed by Preuss, Cullen, and Parker Goettsch with seven apiece, and Brody Riedemann with six.

Spalding (1-6) rushed 27 times for 102 yards in the game. Eric Willman rushed six times for 41 yards, and Austin Schmit six times for 32 yards.

Spalding QB Thomas Stoll was 1-6 passing for 25 yards and one TD, that a 25-yard completion to Kelly Full.

Cody Suntken led the Spalding defense with 17 tackles, and Willman had 10, and Schmit eight.

River Valley (3-5) plays at rated Newell-Fonda (7-0) Friday night in District action.
